Videos bookmarking last frame on auto-advance
« on: September 10, 2012, 08:43:14 pm »

When I let videos play through back-to-back, such as watching through TV show episodes, it seems to bookmark the last fraction of a second as it advances to the next video. So when I try to play the episode again, it automatically advances to the next episode. If I try to play that episode a few more times then it will eventually clear, but I can also clear the bookmark in the Tag window.

It never used to bookmark a video toward the end, but it started doing this in v17.

I do want to use the bookmarking feature, but don't want it to bookmark the last fraction of a second of my videos. Is there any way to change/fix this?

It shouldn't save a bookmark if it's near the end of the file.

Is the duration in the library wrong for the files in question?

The ones that I'm watching currently actually are not showing anything in the Duration field.

The empty duration is the problem.

Do you have any idea why the duration is empty?  Could you provide a sample file where the duration comes in empty?  Or could it be related to your video acquisition workflow?

Interesting. So with that, I went to Library Tools > Update library (from tags), and upon doing so it got the duration. Running the auto-import does not do this, so I guess the question is: why not.
