Sorting albums by date
joelha:
So I think I'm just about there.
The Date Created text is also showing not only the date but also the time of the day the file was created.
How do I show only the date without the time notation?
Thanks for the excellent help you've given me.
Joel
blgentry:
Dates can be a little tricky. I just did some experiments and came up with this expression, which should get you a date that is Month/Day/Year:
--- Code: ---formatdate([Date Created,0],M//d//yy)
--- End code ---

joelha:
You're fantastic, Brian.
Looking forward to trying this.
Thanks very much for the very quick response.

joelha:
You're solution works beautifully, Brian.
Thanks very much for that.
But for some reason I'm unable to get the same view in JRemote.
I'm connected to the server and have customized the view to album view, but I don't have the same view or even the same view options that I'm showing in MC.
Obviously I'm missing something.
Would you be good enough to tell me what it is?
Thanks again.
Joel
blgentry:
It sounds like you probably found the option to change/add/remove JRemote views. Just in case you didn't:
Tools > Options > Media Network > Advanced > configure views for JRemote
I get a little confused on the exact details here. I know you can copy views from standard view and put them here for JRemote to use. But it doesn't seem to bring everything over. Thumbnail text in particular does not seem to get copied. There might be some way to customize the displayed thumbnail text, but I don't know what it is, *if* it's possible.
Theater View is a whole different story.
Brian.
