Monitor and TV setup.
« on: October 28, 2012, 04:28:59 pm »

Hi,

I am trying to setup MC in my kid room. The setup have a ATI HD5850, connected via DVI to a Full HD HP 27" monitor (60 Hz only) and a Philips 40" Full HD TV (24, 25, 50, 60Hz capable).

I have setup Catalyst as extended desktop, HP Monitor (60Hz) as #1 and TV (24Hz) as #2.

On MC 18, Options -> Tree & View -> Full Screen, Monitor: Monitor #2, and video is always correctly sent fullscreen to TV.

But I have an issue when I am try to set Resolution (all supported on TV) as:

23.976 to 1920x1080x32x24
24 to 1920x1080x32x24
25 to 1920x1080x32x50
30 to 1920x1080x32x60

But I only see listed in the MC the HP monitor resolutions/refresh rates (60Hz) instead TV as I intended. I should be doing something wrong.

Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure how automatic resolution switching works if you have two monitors that support different resolutions.

You might drag Media Center on to the TV and then open options and see if it lists the choices from the TV.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your help but unfortunately, even if i drag the MC window to the TV, it stills only list the supported resolutions/refresh rates of the HP monitor.
