problem recording from an external minidisc player
« on: April 17, 2002, 02:20:11 pm »

i have been having trouble recording from a portable sony minidisc walkman to my computer. using MJ, i was able to record from a microphone with no problem at all, but when i use the "line" option, no sound is recorded. I have a sony vaio laptop with a docking station, which has audio out/in jacks. the minidisc walkman has a line out jack, and i've successfully hooked it up to my stereo receiver, so i know it's possible. i'm using a cable with a mini plug on either end, which seems to fit both jacks perfectly. i've checked to make sure i have the correct input source selected in audio/recording properties... what am i missing?
below is my system info
thnx
