Lock up on loss of usb output
« on: November 19, 2012, 02:37:31 am »

Hi,
I'm running MC18.0.68 but I'm pretty sure the issue also happened in MC17.  I run audio only via USB to my DAC etc.  If for any reason the USB is disturbed (its a laptop and the plug gets bumped) and I loose USB (which then returns or not), MC locks up there and then.  It stops working but will respond to closing down most times.  But it leaves the MC .exe in operation (as seen in "processes" in Task Manager) and I can't even force it closed (process end) with Task Manager - well not immediately.  After a while - maybe 15 -20 minutes it will usually finally respond to being "process ended".  It doesn't seem to close down by itself.  Given I have a dicky USB plug that does this once or twice an evening this gets a bit annoying.

I guess this could be to do with the USB driver and however it is implemented - it is a proprietary driver for the kit I'm using.

Any help appreciated.

tks
