Hello,

I have a few MKVs and they all play well except for one.  That one was playing well until I moved the file to the media center.  Now the file plays well with MPC but refuses to play with MC17 and MC18. I even tried from different computers without success.  MC detects proper media type and sub-type.

Basically MC seems to try to open it and then, just move on to the next file.

Try playing it again in MPC-HC. As it is starting up, do you see a "Buffering" in the bottom left corner? If so, the file is incomplete. Did you download or unrar it? When this happens, MC sees the file as wrong, but MPC can play it to an extent. I think if this is what's happening, playback on MPC-HC will go all wonky when it gets to the missing bits.

Yes, there is buffering. I guess some part got lost while transferring the file over the network. I'll start over again.
