Two questions about ripping blurays
« on: November 27, 2012, 09:01:53 pm »

1. Do I need to use AnyDVD to defeat the encryption or does JRiver do it for me itself?

2. When I make a rip with AnyDVD and rip the same bluray disc with JRiver, the BDMV directory is identical, but AnyDVD also included the Certificate directory. Am I limiting myself in any way by ripping with JRiver?

Thanks.

1) Yes, you need AnyDVD.

2) This is true and has been pointed out by user jmone before. I think that once you rip with AnyDVD present, it removes the need for he certificate folder. However, I may be mistaken on this. Certainly the Certificate folder does no harm, and perhaps MC should include it?
