Equalized settings not maintained after closing MJ.

But, the progress bar now moves along quite smoothly and without being prompted to do so by the cursor.

Bugs:
1. Try navigating the new skinned MEGA-ME Menus using only the keyboard (like ALT-H and Up/Down arrow keys).  Notice that the selection disappers on disabled items and on separator bars. Also, there should be a background highlight color even for disabled menu items so you can follow where the selection is.
2. When using the menu shortcuts for the Download Manager via the keyboard, you always hear the system default sound (beep) as if you've typed an invalid key...the shortcuts do work now, though.

Ah what?

17. NEW: Download Manager will always import downloaded files.

Why?  I surely don't like that...I don't import 75% of the MP3s I download with the Download Manager.

I thot I saw a mention in the thread of a previous release about a new smart keying feature in the Tree List.  e.g. starting from the Artist/Album node if I type 'c' I go to Cannonball Adderly, now if I type 'e' I go to Cecil Taylor.  Or maybe it was only someones wishlist item.

247 and 248 are really problematical when it comes to going to even the initial letter pressed in the Tree.  Sometimes it will move once or twice then just stall, other times it will wrap back to the start point.

After fooling with it for a bit as I write this it turns out that a 2 count solves the problem:
press 'c'
one thousand one
one thousand two
press 'c'
and the selection changes.  Any faster and it gets stuck.

Also the tree list does not keep the focus if MJ looses the focus.  If I alt-tab back to MJ and use the 'up' or 'down' keys nothing happens.  If I alt-tab tab the tree gets the focus back.

I have to 'fess up. I made up "differentiationalization." No . . . no, I did . . . I really made it up. I just didn't know how to spell "differentiate" or whether it was even a real word, so I just though--what the heck--I want to sound impressiive but not do a spell check, so I'll throw a long word and no one's gonna bother to look it up (or even read it in all liklilhoodednessly).

MEGA-ME Bugs:
1. The Sent-To Target bar paints oddly after MJ is running for a few minutes...seems to have to do with clicking on Org Tree nodes.  It flickers (to the music?) and requires an MJ restart to clearup.  See:

2. Also, everytime you change nodes in the Org Tree (via mouse clicks or hot-keys), the words MEDIA JUKEBOX in the title bar flicker in a brighter blue color.

MJ crashes once you click on OK after being notified that the CDDB server had timed out.

Not new to this build--a couple of MJ shutdowns just reminded me

JimH -
ctl-f jumps to Media Library and starts a search in the track listing pane.

Bug.  The DFX plugin worked in 247 but in 248 MJ would lockup when I hit play or ask me to check the playback settings. Tried disabling DFX in the DSP window, no help.  ctl-alt-del to close MJ and couldn't restart MJ.  Tried normal restart of Windows and had to hit the Reset button to reboot.  Uninstalled DFX, rebooted and everything's working again.

Setting/Options/Startup/Disable Media Scheduler doesn't stick.  Restart Windows and the Scheduler is in the Task Tray.

Hi

When I send my entire library to Playing Now the volume is cut in half when they play.  I confirmed this by sending one song to Playing Now and the volume doubled.  My volume was set at 44% both times.

Can somebody confirm this or is it my old tired system. If it is can you e-mail my wife so I can upgrade!!!!

Thanks

Bugs

If I'm typing something in MJ (editting a field in Content View for instance) when the Vis Bars Auto-Hide, they steal the focus away from the text box.

If I'm in Playing Now and I hit either Ctrl-F or the Find toolbar button, MJ jumps to the Find box, but the text box loses focus. Hitting Ctrl-F or the toolbar button again puts the focus where it belongs. This only happens if I'm in Playing Now when I hit Find.

Track Info : The Edit Properties link no longer functions. Has this been changed or removed?

DSP Studio : Equalizer remembers which preset I was using but it doesn't set the sliders right after a restart of MJ.

Analyzing Devices : This comes up way too often. I liked it much better when it only showed up when I actually opened the Devices branch (although even then I have to wonder what the point of it is - isn't it obvious that when I open the devices branch that MJ is going to analyze them?).

Remote Control : Next\Previous Playlists skip Smartlists.

MEGA-ME Skinning : The File Properties progress box that comes up when you load up a bunch of files into File Properties isn't skinned.

MEGA-ME Skinning : Explorer Tree Views (Like when you browse for a location) look ugly because the folder icons aren't skinning correctly.

Requests

Can the "Enlarge Menus" option be a seperate setting for Full Screen, MEGA-ME, Windowed, and mini-me? Or at least Full Screen from the other three?

Can the "Auto-Hide Bars" option be a seperate setting for Full Screen, MEGA-ME, and Windowed? This time I want it seperate for all three - the behavior I want in MEGA-ME (Auto-Hide OFF) is not the same as what I want for Full Screen and Windowed mode (Auto-Hide ON). Or I guess if MEGA-ME was just separate from the other two that would work for me too, but I imagine others would feel differently so maybe a separate option for every mode?

On the CD Burning box, can the Number of Copies text box get one of those up/down incrementer/decrementer things?

It would be really cool if every time MJ displayed a hyperlink that it would be clickable. I'm not looking for an automatic thing, I've just seen this behavior in the Plugin Manager and on the Import Media status box, and I thought it would be cool to have a live link for www.replaygain.org since you've listed that link in the Replay Gain Analyzer. Also a live link to the DSP plugin page in DSP Studio and a live link to the Vis plugin page in Vis Studio would be nice as well.

MEGA-ME Skinning Bugs:
1. Inline editing is not right (paints badly) for Content view (right side) renames.  Renames in Org Tree (left side) work fine (paint correctly).  Two problems:  1) Initiating the rename does not initialially highlight and select in a different color/way and 2) pressing the left arrow to remove the selection and edit the field paints the field incorrectly (leaves artifact of the original text to the left and below the edit box).

2. The Position and Volume thumbs in the Player window are NOT aligned on the same starting row...the Position thumb is one pixel lower (down) than the Volume thumb.  Do I win the ultra-mega-cool prize for discovering this bug?  LOL...see:

OK. but what happens when you select one of those options?  Does "acquire" work in MJ? If, not--is that a seperate bug to report?

I have the 'Playback Options' menu also.  Options are 'Work Offline' and 'Close'. They don't do anything.  And yes I have Paint Shop Pro, didn't get any info from that though.  I think it pulled my menu from IE.

I just installed this version, twice, and each time on starting for the first time it just crashes (freezes) on the small blue square splash screen and goes no further. Does not load up the program, and does not show an error message; does not even show up on the Taskbar as a running program. It requires CTRL ALT DEL to find and close it, and of course it shows up as "not responding". I deinstalled my previous version 7.2 in favour of this so I could deal with a Burn To CD bug I described in another thread... evidently this won't work. Are there any other version 8's linked to from Interact TalkBack threads? I shall go looking for some.

Yannl,

Using build 248, just right-click in MJ anywhere or click on any menu item...you should see blue background with white text (if you are using the default MEGA-ME skin)...if so, that's the skinning (see last entry in your MegaSkins\Default\Main.xml file).

Having the same result as bennyd!

When starting MJ, the icon toolbar is blank. When hovering over with the mouse, they apear again.
They always are blank when starting MJ.

The separators are missing and I have to drag the mouse across to get the tool icons to appear.

In regards to tool icons missing when starting MJ.

If you right click, MJ does it "analyzing device" and than the icons are back.

Bugs (still):
1. Clicking Open Media File... off the File menu crashes MJ immediately (just disappears).
2. Clicking Library Manager > Backup option immediately crashes MJ too (poof).

The same goes with the add image to the song properties - By the sounds of the other bug, it sounds like it's an error in your code for adding files in general. I'm guessing you guys use the same module for adding all files and something you've changed is causing it to crash any time a dialog is opened.

Here's an anomoly. Don't know if it is MJ specific or not. I just noticed with Internet Explorer that my toolbar icons no longer change to the highlight color. They are blacked out. Normal mouse over of, say, the stop button would change it to red. No longer the case. Looks like a black hole now. Anyone else have this happen??? No new programs or anything installed outside of MJ for quite some time now.

Can't duplicate either problem on WinXP.

JimH,

Crashes on Win2k w/SP1...started with build 245...a few others have reported this, so I tested it and, indeed, it does crash (on Win2k).
