Some good News, Some Not So Good

Well,  I got my database back on 7.2.280.  Found another backup copy of it.

The CD burning problem is still rearing its ugly head.  I installed Nero Burn and it is working now - burning an audio disc.   BTW,  I did go and buy a new pack of CDR on the slight chance that mine was defective.  MJ won't burn on this one either so its not the disc.

And, apparently its not the CD drive because it's burning right now - using Nero!

The MJ error is the famous "track mode incompatible..."

Question:    is it possible to run two different versions of MJ on same computer?  Like if I want to install the new beta but keep my good one?  Should I install the new beta on a different drive partition?  can they both share the same backup registry files?

Another Question:  could this be related to my problem: I get the error about auto-notification w/MJ asking me if I want to make changes and reboot.  What kinds of problems does "auto notification" cause with CD burners?

Please take a look at some of the other threads on CD burning problems.  Also the FAQ here may help.
