Is it possible to stream MOG through JRiver? DSP ? too
« on: January 10, 2013, 11:55:23 am »

I am thinking of purchasing JRiver and have a couple of questions:

1.  Is it possible to stream MOG (I have a subscription) through JRiver?
You might be thinking, why would I want to do that.  The reason is that for certain 'albums', I prefer to use an EQ or DSP settings.  Thus, the next two questions:

2.  If you can, can you use the EQ and/or DSP settings in JR?

3.  Are the EQ and DSP abilities any good, or do they add noise, degrade sound quality, etc.?

I know that some people abhor the thought of using an EQ or DSP, but for certain recordings (e.g., older jazz recordings), to my ears, what I hear sounds better.  For example, I have some old Chet Baker CD's and when I played them through an old Sony receiver (wish I kept that one!) and used the 'Church' setting, wow, what an improvement (again, to my ears, which is what really matters).

TIA!!!I

You could try Loopback.  It's particularly good for audio-only sources like MOG where lip-sync is irrelevant.

With MC18, use File > Open Live... > WASAPI Loopback

You'll need a default audio device that's different than the device JRiver is using.

Once or twice.

I've heard good things about it.

I use the Wasapi loopback often. It sounds great with Mog.
