MC 17 > 18 breaks library
« on: January 25, 2013, 06:34:41 pm »

I have media on my D and E drives. What is D now USED to e what E is now and there was also an F drive. Again this has been like this awhile and MC17 is fine.

When I install MC18 for some reasons it is getting the old settings from somewhere. The library shows but nothing plays and the auto-import is looking for the old E and F!

Why isn't MC18 picking up the correct current settings from MC17 and how do I resolve this? If I launch MC17 everything is fine.

Thanks!

You can backup your library in MC17 and restore in MC18.  Be sure to check the box to restore settings.

Also, make sure you're not sharing a library folder between MC17 and MC18 or it'll lead to problems.

Hi Matt. I actually did try that to no avail. What next?

All the library items were showing fine just trying to play anything gave an error... for whatever reason it was looking for old paths.

Might have been able to do this in 18 but what I did was run 17, remove the auto-import dirs and the default (music) dir then re-add them. Then installed 18 and it's good to go.
