disappearing stacks
« on: November 06, 2012, 12:01:20 pm »

Hello --

I've got many albums where I've got VBR mp3s and 24/96 vinyl rip flacs as stacks. I've noticed the stacks "lose" members on a pretty regular basis. Haven't played an album in a while? Now all the flacs have left the library and most of the mp3s. In fact, I can reliably recreate this on demand.

  • Re-import the flacs
  • Re-import missing mp3s
  • Re-stack them as individual pairs*
  • Change displayed items using back or forward arrows in upper left of panes
  • Say goodbye to your freshly re-imported and re-stacked stacks

* This may be key: this mostly seems to happen to files that don't autostack properly. Even though all tags are identical (I have MC make the mp3s from the flacs when I want the mp3s), autostack by artist, album, track #, title doesn't work right (especially if I specify flac as stack top).

Having just done this with a half-dozen albums, and subsequently lost three of them from the library, my mood is best summarized as:  >:( with some  ?

Thanks --
Micah
