Recording loopback stream - empty file

I'm trying to record a stream playing on my default sound card via MC18

I can play the stream through MC no problem using file / open url: live://loopback

However, if I select to record the stream the resulting file is empty (0 bytes)

I am trying to Record from 'Open URL' and get a File created of around 200 bytes which obviously doesn't play and an error message....
'' Failed to open or parse file. (hr=0x80004005) ''

Any one have any clues?
