and Public Reserve Land
I know, isn't that shot cool? Its like an ad in an LL Bean catalog.
The "story" behind that place is cool too. That was taken from a kayak in the middle of the lake. It is in a public reserve land
way up north in Maine, where my wife and I went on a camping trip a few years ago. We got there by following US 1 until it ends in Ft Kent, then we continued up State Rte-161 (which is "where" US1 would be if it hadn't ended), and had to take a privately-owned road (a sort-of "dirt highway" logging road with a toll) for about an hour and a half down into the "park". When you check in at the toll station at the beginning of the road, they ask you how long you intend to stay, and explain that you have to check in at the station if you want to stay longer, or else they might send out rescue parties and helicopters (which you have to pay for when they find you).
When we got there, that guy fishing was the only other human there (for miles, around, probably). We had to paddle to the other end of the pond to get a look at him at all.
