ASIO Output Settings
« on: July 04, 2006, 12:53:26 pm »

I have an M-Audio 1010LT soundcard, which has 8 RCA outputs (4 pair).  My main computer speakers are hooked up to 1/2, and my TV soundsystem is hooked up to 5/6.  I set Media Center output mode to ASIO and the channel offset to 4 to make my soundsystem the default, which works great for audio tracks.  But, the sound for video files always goes to my computer's default speakers (1/2).  Is there a way to make the audio for video files go to 5/6 without changing windows default speakers?

I'm running 11.1.188

Thanks,

Robbie G

Currently MC can only route the audio played back through its audio engine.

This will likely change in the next version.

Yes that would be nice.
A free mapping of the sound of multichannel (2,2.1,5.0,5,1,2-2-2,7.1,9.1) like foobar2000 can do (with ASIO only I think).

In foobar2000 you just have for example: right-channel, left-channel etc. and the soundcards outputs. Then you can do a free mapping of what channel you want to be on what output.

see in foobar2000: under "preferences" "output ASIO" "custom channel mapping"

foobar2000 however has there some other problems...

Peter, you replied to a thread that had its last post in 2006. JRiver currently supports custom channel mapping.

Sorry was actually not aware that this is so old.

However, I found assignement for groups like SPDIF, ASIO etc, but not inside ASIO for example assigning each output. OI will chekc again, may be I have not seen all whats avaialble.

In the DSP you use the Parametric Equalizer and Mix Channels to route channels to other outputs.
