Moving Cover Art Folder
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:51:44 pm »

Interesting problem I ran into I wanted to notify about.

When I set up Media Center 18, I accidentally set the Cover Art Folder to be the general folder for my user account under Windows 7. While this was a bit annoying, it wasn't a big deal. It added Seasons, Series, etc folder to my "C:\Users\Media Center\" folder. I recently added a new hard drive and wanted to move the cover art folder to the new hard drive. In MC options\File Location\Cover Art, I changed the "folder" to a new Cover Art folder on the new hard drive (lets call it drive J:). MC basically froze, and I let it sit for a while. It then gave me an error that it couldn't move the folder, and when looking in the MC options the folder remained the general "C:\Users\Media\Center" folder. However, MC surprisingly, moved the entire "C:\Users\Media Center\" folder to the J: drive. And in fact, there was some sort of loop such that AppData folder got copied recursively and ended up being something like 40GB of data.

This wouldn't really be a major problem as I could move back the folders I didn't want on J, EXCEPT that the MC Cover Art folder location didn't change and if I change it again I get the same problem.

I realize that's a bit confusing so let me know if I was unclear.
