QuickTime and Crashing
« on: April 08, 2002, 07:28:18 am »

Just reporting a few problems and also have a few questions using MJ 8.0239.
M.J. is supposed to be able to import and play QuickTime files or am I wrong?
When I search my drive and try to import QuickTime files it just hangs. I have to crtl alt delete
to get out of the cycle. Also why is it contacting Real Audio or Real One to download the supposed
software? Which always comes back by  the way with "not found?" Also every once in a while I may try to
switch skins without stopping the player and it crashes my computer. I get the blue screen of death!
I'm using Windows 2000 thanks, Sage.

For Quicktime answers see this.

If you have real files of any type, they need the software from real installed for MJ to play them.

To bad about QuickTime maybe in the future, but I have Real Audio installed Now the Real One Player which by the way wants to own everything it (M.J. won't import or can't see them) so what's up?

You have to check file associations in in the options of MJ to play real files. Also, real basically has to be disabled. I currently don't have Real anything on my machine. To invasive. You will have to dig around in Reals' settings to let MJ be the boss. Best I can do for you.
