How To: Make MJ the Default CD Rom Player in Windows 98SE?
« on: April 04, 2002, 02:15:02 am »

Greeting - Could anyone please describe to me how to get Windows 98SE to set MJ as the Default audio player for both of my CD Rom drives?  I have tried with no luck & strangely enough I remember one of the V8 Beta's (I think) as doing exactly this & now I can't duplicate it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all at MJ for their wonderful work on V8 - It is finally working wonderfully for me & my computer.

Regards to all - Rusty.

Under MJ8 beta you can associate MJ with CD's with
Options->Settings->File Associations->Associate with audio CD's
I think that worked under 7.2 as well, but I don't remember

Thanks for your advice guys ... But ... I already had that check box checked.

Something else must be amiss as it still won't automatically start playing a CD once I have inserted it in the drive like it used to.  Is there something else I have missed that I need to switch on or off?

Regards Rusty.

Rusty

thats not the same question

You only get one question per week

PS: I don't have windows 98 so i can not direct you to it. In windows XP you need to go to the drive properties, and select "Auto Play". like i said i am not sure about windows 98.

Sometimes "auto insert notification" interferes with CD burning. It used to with me until I uninstalled EZ CD Creator. I haven't tried to turn it on since. I have Windows 98SE.
