Can MJ 8.0 to be scheduled to perform the following:

1. 8.00am - 2.00pm (360 mins) to play Playlist 1.
2. 2.01pm - 8.00pm (359 mins) to play Playlist 2.

It can't directly. You could use MJ to create m3u playlist files from Playlist 1 and 2 and add Custom Task to play the m3u files from Media Scheduler. When you add a custom task from Media Scheduler, click on Command Shortcuts and choose "Play a media file" and then replace <Next PageATH_TO_A_MEDIA_FILE> with the m3u file path you just created. However you could not set the stop time for the Custom Tasks.

Raymond> I posted about this in the 8.0.239 bug thread. I tried to do exactly what you described and it doesn't work. The first playlist plays fine, but the second one never takes over. MJ just keeps on playing the first playlist. And I can't find an option to close MJ for a minute (the only option I see is to Shut Down).

Any suggestions?

Doof,
I saw your message in that thread. Media Jukebox.exe itself does not handle the commands anymore, the task was passed to mjextman.exe. So when you add a new Custom Task, change the program path's Media Jukebox.exe to mjextman.exe. You could save it by using the Command Shortcuts menu and it will replace the old values. There is no task to close MJ right now.

Just last night as a matter of fact. Next Page

I think eventually I'm going to set it up so that my start up volume is 80% or something, and then export a playlist of heavy metal music. Then I'll start MJ playing nice ocean sounds at night, using the sleep timer to eventually fade out and shut MJ down. And then at 7:30, Media Scheduler fires MJ up playing really loud heavy metal so I may actually drag myself out of bed on time in the morning. Next Page

What's a m3u? What are the steps I should take to create one with MJ?

Found it under 'File\Export Playlist'. Tried it and worked perfectly. Great stuff!
