HTML in Thumbnail text formatting
« on: March 17, 2013, 03:14:45 am »

Hi,
I am trying to customize the thumbnail text in some of my views. I have been looking around the forums (and Wikis) for some information on what kind of HTML I am able to use. But I don't seem to find much.

So my main question is wether or not somebody have some information about what kind of HTML I can use in formatting the thumbnail text?

I have seen examples of people using the <font color> tag, and some other tags like <b >;
But then I try to use <font size> it just doesn't work as I expect.

For instance, I am trying to make the title stand out in size from the rest of the text, but if try to use something like <font size=5> it has no visible effect. If I use a fixed size I need to scale it up to over 100pt to get a font in normal size.

Likewise, styles attributes doesn't seem to work, as well as tags like <div> etc. So there seems to be some restrictions?

Thanks for any help in advance
/Fredrik

Originally, only Bold, Underline, Italics and Font Color were supported. I do not think anything else has been added.

Font size is supported like:
<font size="120%">[Name]</font>

Font size is supported like:
<font size="120%">[Name]</font>

Nice. I did not know that.

When using <font size> to upscale the space for the thumbnail text is not expanded and my third line of thumbnail text is no longer visible.

The vertical text alignment on the same line when using <font size> for only part of the text on the line could be nicer.

(In your example I think you forgot to escape the ending <//font>.)

Thank you Matt and dtc !

I noticed the same thing as Vagskal, but by making some text smaller, and some text bigger I could make all the lines fit anyway!

Not sure how hard adding things is, but would also be great to get a background color change. Ie, <body bgcolor = "FF000"> blah blah </body>.

That would allow an easy way of creating metacritic ratings in standard view!

And not sure if this has been mentioned before, but it would also be great if HTML could be used in the File Info Panel in Theater View like it is in the Captions!
