Emusic has slowed to a crawl in posting new jazz files, and most of what they're putting up is obscure World and New Age material. Anyone else notciing this? Whats happening in other genres?

Yeah, many genres have really dried up in terms of new additions.  Very disappointing.

I had emailed them because there was a problem with a track on Miles Davis' Blue Haze album and they emailed me back thanking me and saying that they will correct the file in 4-6 weeks because they are in the progress of moving and cannot upload the file right now. That could be why they haven't uploaded any new files lately.

Hope that's it. I've seen very little recently from the Fantasy catalogue, and wondered if their license had dried up.

Just curious re "most of what they're putting up is obscure World and New Age material" did you DL Ribih Abou-Khalil's "Blue Camel" album?  I don't know when it was posted but I'm real happy that I stumbled across it - sure can't knock his lineup - Charlie Mariano, Kenny Wheeler, Steve Swallow.

License drying up?  Could you expand on this.  I sent them an eMail requesting that they resample a lot of their Booker Ervin material and they said it would take about 4-6 weeks to get to it.

thanks

I'm in NYC this week, talking with a couple of record labels.  I can't say where I heard it, but I heard that the catalog will be significantly enhanced soon.  Bitrate improvements may also be coming.

Received this response:

"Hi,
We are in the process of moving. Once the move has been completed, you'll soon notice new content pouring onto the site."

Confirms Jazzwolf's comment, maybe JimH's too. Would like to see an enhanced bitrate option.

gvag, will dl "Blue Camel". Thnx for the tip.
