Sidecar files have wrong filename item
« on: March 27, 2013, 03:36:54 am »

Hi all, I rip video (TV) to a temporary folder and import into MC18 (latest). Then I use the get movie and tv info to get the cover and series info. I then use rename move and copy to move the files to the correct nas drive. After this the sidecar still has the old drive and folder in the filename item.

OK so a simple update tags from library fixes the issue but I would not expect to have to do this step.

What are the implications of the data being wrong?

For most people, probably nothing.

For me, I'm actually using the sidecars to drive a dynamically generated website on an Intranet (rtmp and Cupertino streaming video served by Wowza).  This relies on the sidecars to have the proper path to the source video though.

It only happens when you use rename, move, and copy, but I occasionally forget to do the Update Tags step, and then I get broken links on my web page.

If I had the time, I'd recode it to use MCWS instead and then it wouldn't be a problem.
