NO playback
« on: April 03, 2002, 12:41:58 pm »

when I try to play a mp3 file with MJ 7.2.280, it will hang on opening the song or claim it is playing the song but nothing happens, no sound, no movement on the countdown timer, what might be going on?
I have uninstalled and re installed MJ  twice. And still no change. I then downloaded Windows Media Player and the same files play fine through  Windows Media Player. Please dont force me to use that.
System is a Pentium II with 256MB memory ES1869 Plug and Play Audio drive, OS is Windows 98
Any ideas???

Ok

Are The Sound Board Drivers Are Up To Date?

You May Need To Tell Them What Sound Board Your Using.

Settings, Options, PlayBack, Make Sure "Wave Out" Is Selected, Also Bit Depth Should Be Set To 16 Bits

Reboot MJ After Making Changes.

Make Sure No Other Program Is Using Your Sound Board (Just In Case)
