Apple Mac OS-X is now on MORE than 50% of all new computers sold. Just in case you missed that fact, here it is again: The MAJORITY of new computers sold today are APPLE computers.
This means that the Windows version of JRiver media player is now used by a diminishing minority of users in the marketplace. Any further development of the Windows version is a serious waste of resources. Unfortunately, iTunes, a free program offered by Apple, is the vastly preferred program for media management on Mac. The good news for JRiver is that iTunes is bloated, unstable, irritating, and (at least in my case) has a history of becoming corrupt and either losing or deleting music files. That means that a stable, easy-to-use, and focused contender (potentially JRiver) can make a TON of money by becoming the new Mac media-program standard.
For that to happen, though, JRiver MUST get to the party immediately. It also means that JRiver can't still be dawdling around with their "Alpha" or "Beta" versions for Mac where features don't work, where constant problems pop up like ping-pong balls in a swimming pool and must be repeatedly submerged again.
This is "live or die" time for JRiver. If they waste one more second of time on their decaying Windows version, then their fate is sealed. The future is Mac. JRiver must decide NOW whether they want to be part of the Mac universe or not. If so, then they need to do what it takes to get a perfected, working version of JRiver Media Player for Mac finalized NOW - Not in weeks, not in months, and certainly not in years. The marketplace isn't standing still, and there are JRiver competitors who already have final versions of their Mac products on the market. Having come late to the party, JRiver must sprint to stay in the running.
JRiver - ARE YOU LISTENING? Whatever resources you have, or can hire, or can borrow - You'd better get them in gear on your JRiver for Mac product or you'll be looking for new jobs! Time is wasting; WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
