Feature request - 10 output channels
« on: April 11, 2013, 05:28:36 pm »

I have a M-Audio Profire 610, which has 10 output channels (8 with DACs, 2 via SPDIF).  I want to be able to use them all, in a 5-way digital crossover.

I can easily get it working under WASAPI if I use 7.1 output, but of course I only get 8 channels, so can only do 4-way.  If I select 12 channels in the output format, it gives an error, as this is not supported by the hardware.

I think that my problem would be overcome if MC had an option for 10 channel output - I guess that my card is unusual, hence this may not have been asked before.  Any chance of the feature being added?  Or any other solutions (short of using Reaper)?

Sure.  If it's not in the next build, just bump this thread to remind us.

I think you'll probably have to use ASIO as your output method to do 10 channels (which is normally best when supported anyway).

Cool, thanks.  :D

I tried ASIO but got some stuttering, I might give that a blast if I continue to have any issues.  WASAPI worked fine with four ways, so fingers crossed it'll do five.

Next build:
Changed: Added '10 channels' as a possible output mode in DSP Studio > Output Format.
