"not using JRiver audio engine"

MC is set as default sound program for all of my audio files.
Trying to play through an external DAC via router.
Whether I drag a music icon into MC, or play through a playlist -
"not using JRiver audio engine" is the message I get.

what's happening?? If MC is playing, what is?   Windows 7 task manager shows media center as the only relevant program, and when I close MC, the music stops.

How do i get MC to use its own engine??

Is your external DAC a DLNA device?  If so, it's the playback engine and we're just a server.

Yes, computer & PSaudio powerwaveII/Bridge are DLNA devices.
How can I use MC's upsampling along with the DAC?

I can control the bit rate etc on LPs recorded through Audacity, but i've been ripping my CDs in MC.  Any way to convert my 16/44.1 CDs to 24/96 or better flac files?

I have a similar set up using MC to push files through a router to my Oppo BDP 103 and I get the same message.  I'm most interested in the response to your question for the same reasons.

At the moment, MC's audio processing is not available for DLNA devices.  With the Oppo, it's simply a DLNA renderer I believe?  Therefore there's nothing you can do about that. However, is the PSAudio device actually a DAC too with USB input?  If so, you can connect to it like an external soundcard/DAC rather than DLNA and then MC's audio engine will be used.

Is it known whether or not it is ‘on the list’ to make audio processing available to DLNA devices?

I’m surprised this is not already available in what otherwise is such an advanced media centre program.
