Centralized Music, de-centralized players
« on: May 22, 2013, 06:39:27 am »

Hello:

Newbie here, with questions.

I have a 3TB NAS, and want to play music through 3 different Win7-based PCs. Each is on a different floor of my house, so independent control is fine (I do not desire to control one system from a different system).

•   Do I install JRiver MC on each PC? (and do I need to pay for each license separately?)
•   Can I create playlists/edit metadata/add music to the NAS from any of my 3 devices, and will MC18 update the files appropriately, and propagate to the other 2 devices?

And, happy to be pointed to any other posts regarding best home networking results with MC. But I'm *most* happy to be untethered from iTunes!!!

Thanks all.

One licence will cover all your PCs.  Here is a similar thread that will give you some ideas on how you can set it up - http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=80721.0
