Read trackfailed. Not Initialized.

When I try to rip a CD I get the message "Read track failure. Not Initialized" The ripping feature has worked previously and I have even tried unsuccesfully to rip a CD which I have ripped previously. Can anybody help?

If you're on WinNT/2K/XP:
Check in Settings/Options/Device settings and see what drive type is set to (aspi,ide,auto). Try different settings.
