the first genre i can select from the drop down list, any further genres I have to type in manually after the semi colon. Can it not be so that once you enter a semi colon you can then select the next genre from the list ?

Just to restate - here is a real example - i have a album of a jazz vocalist in 96khz so genre tag them as female singer songwriter and another named audiophile quality - i can only pre-select one - the other has to be typed in manually - Can it not be so that you can select more than one genre from the drop down list to save the hassle of typing the second one (and avoiding creating another genre if typed or spaced incorrectly)

I think the first time you will have to type them manually, but then that choice will appear in the drop down menu as a combination genre. Checkboxes like we have for the actor field might be more useful to you. You can always create your own custom genre field that would allow this.

thmpi, it looks like the answer is no you cannot.
Also it seems very few are bothered about multiple genres.
I too find it tiresome to have to manually type multiple genres.

My workaround is to use Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V.
For example:
Select a genre from drop down list and Cut it [onto the clipboard].
Select a second genre from drop down list and paste the previous.
Now you have two genres. If three are required - quite often if you use audiophile quality [good idea thmpi] - then repeat the Cut and Paste workaround.
It's still tiresome though.
