not possible to convert on client?
« on: June 15, 2013, 09:24:53 am »

Hello,

Recently I have made my main desktop pc the client while an old laptop is the server. The laptop is only used to be the player.

Today I was adding music to my library from the client. But when I tried to convert formats from a single file with CUE to separate files, I did notice the convert format button was grayed out, also the analyse files was grayed out.
Is it not possible to convert files on a client? If this is the case, server/client as it is now with me, is not useble.

I tried search, but only found this topic:

Edit: maybe there is a setting in option to make it possible to convert also on the client?

I take it that it is impossible within MC18 to convert music files on the client? Only on the server-pc?

Adding or replacing files must be done on the server.  This is because having a client upload a new file to a server is a little complicated (but might be supported someday).
