How to Auto Rip?
« on: June 30, 2013, 11:48:36 am »

I recently downloaded the newest windows version and I am using Windows 7.  I am looking for a way to set up MC to automatically rip my CD's when I open the drive door and insert a CD.  I intend to use this in my audio rack with no keyboard or monitor attached.  I know this can be done by iTunes and I suspect it can be here but I can't find the process.

Under the CD, DVD & BD tab, General, AutoPlay I have checked Audio CD Rip and under that Rip.  However when a CD is inserted the system waits for me to tell it to rip.

I have done a search and was not able to find an answer.

Any help will be appreciated.

  • Requires "iTunes or better" so I installed JRiver

It works fine for me. Here are two more things you could try.

1.  In the Windows Control Panel go to Hardware and Sound > Autoplay and either uncheck "Use autoplay . . ." or set Audio CD to Take No Action. Perhaps your current autoplay setting is interferring with JRiver.

2.  If #1 doesn't work, then in JRiver's Options > Startup > Windows Startup set it to run Media Server on Windows Startup.

Thanks - It seems it was a conflict with Windows.  Your suggestion was right on.
