Metadata on DLNA
« on: July 07, 2013, 04:41:08 pm »

Hi there. Is there any way to turn on the movie/show info i.e. synopsis, etc. so it displays on one's television when choosing a video to play on the tv itself?

Thanks.

I think this would be a function of the TV itself, and I doubt whether the software is that advanced in any TV. The server sends metadata information to the DLNA player along with a path to the file itself - I don't know whether MC sends all that sort of information but it's up the the TV to decode it and display it. Does your TV indicate that you can press a button to bring up more information about the selected file?

Yeah, you're totally right. When I press the key for more info, it just lists the name, file type, and a few other bits of information, but nothing about the actors or the synopsis. Oh well, thanks.
