I post here because it is not specific to any build.

It seems that htbackdrops.org is gone for a long time. It was the only high quality avalaible for audio slideshows.
May be worth replacing it with fanart.tv that could also be used for tvshows and movies.

That's unfortunate.

I had just switched our code from htbackdrops.com to htbackdrops.org and sent a little money to Tobias.  He indicated it would keep running, but that was a couple weeks ago.

None are working since a long time and I don't think there are plans to revive them. May be your best bet is just to switch the provider, as I suggested, to a better and more versatile one.

Have you heard anything from Tobias or other principle of htbackdrops to confirm that it's gone?

On 7/21, any API developers (including us) got this message:

Dear API-Developers,

 

as you may have noticed we did have a long downtime and are still not reachable through our domain htbackdrops.com.

 

Unfortunately I got into a fight with my bank and had to realize that they are a mighty bunch. My account basically got frozen for 2 month which made me unable to pay rent, energy, phone bills nor the server fees. It took some time to sort out these problems and because of an update of the hosting companies accounting software there was another three weeks delay.

 

The server is back online for two weeks now. I contacted the domain holder and asked him to restore the DNS records for htbackdrops.com but have not got a response yet. I expect the domain to come back to live but cannot predict how long it will take. For that reason I advise you to update your software to use our new domain http://www.htbackdrops.org!

 

It serves the same content htbackdrops.com did and will of course do so even when the old domain is back.

 

If you encounter any problems please feel free to contact me at tobias@htbackdrops.org!

I also get a fanart.tv SDK key today.

Sorry, I didn't have this information. I hope he can sort out his problems, and later get the site back online.

You get fanart.tv SDK key? Sounds like it would make a nice addition to htbackdrops...
