Sound Hic ups on baraka
« on: July 19, 2013, 03:31:29 pm »

Hi,

i've been using JRiver for a long time now.

I'm running under W7 64

Audio card : Asus Xonar DX. Latest official Driver. Asio set on 24 bits, 1ms latency.

On J river, Audio settings on ASIO
Channel offset 0

Channel swap ON
max buffering ( + use large hardware buffers)

Channel settings on 5.1  ( Logitech Z5500 via Analog outputs)

JRSS mixing ( for 6.1 and 7.1 tracks) ( btw, I still wonder how can i get stereo files playing without upmixing, with this settings.)

Bitdepth : Source bitdepth
Sample rate : no change everywhere.

Flat lines overflow.

Everything is working fine i guess, great PQ ( Red october HQ), great sound ( i find Asio better. lower bass, more cinema like)

I use the arcsoft DLL to play DTS HD tracks.

I got BARAKA  blu-ray, running at 96/24.

During some sequences ( like the rock blasting at about 30 minutes), i can hear some  very slight stutter. Always located on the same timecode.

I tried the blu-ray on TMT3, Windvd 11 pro. No stutter/hicup.

I tried to change from asio to kernel, wasapi event style, different settings on asio : Always this stutter at the same place.

So my question, What causes that? how can i get rid of this?

Why is this only happening on J river and no other players?

Thank you ! =)

FWIW, I've experienced the same, though not always on the same timecode

None so far. It's the only movie I have with 96hz DTS-HD master. The problem must be specific to that. I suspect it has to do with memory playback, but I haven't been able to fix it. Maybe developers can chime in.

I have the same issue when using Baraka's DTS-HD track...little pops every 20-30 seconds.
