6 services running - is this normal?
« on: September 13, 2013, 08:44:13 am »

Hi,

I am using Windows 8 and I just looked at my start-up programs in Task Manager and just saw this.

Seems like there are multiple servcies running of the same thing.  I unsinstalled JRiver 18 and then reinstalled it.  I got the same exact thing!

JRWorker is used to do small tasks that could crash, like thumbnail a video or check for handhelds.  It should never stay resident -- only run for a short time to do a specific job.

I don't know what conhost is.

I'll give you an even weirder one (see attachment.

I never really thought about it, but I think the Start-up tab doesn't just show processes configured to startup automatically, I think it keeps track of what startup programs do during startup to show you what impact they have.

So what you see there might nog actually be running, its what MC has done at one point during startup of Windows.

I don't think you should worry about it.
