Player will not find files

I have a cd/dvd/mp3 player.
Audio files at 128k seem fine. I also have burned mp3 speech files to cd at 64k but these will not play on standalone player (ok on PC). I have tried converting one file to 128k to see if this is problem but after burning to cd still not found.
I have successfully burned music files to the rewritable disk I am using   so it can't be a disk problem... Any ideas? I am no expert on cd writing!

my mp3 player will not see anything below 96kbps
