I've been wondering how I might take advantage of the MC's capabilities and use it to play music in other parts of the house (possibly at the same timer).

It's been relatively easy to do this with J.Remote by selecting "play from This Device" and using the ipad or iphone as a device. I also just set up my laptop with MC and successfully designated it as a zone.

My question is: do I need to have a full fledged PC (or tablet) to get this to work? Is there anyway I would network a cheaper device to play from the main computer, or even just to wire an ethernet or USB to a DAC and to a headphone amp, say? Or would I have to have either a tablet/mobile device or a PC with MC loaded?
