MC 18.0.212 (windows 7/64 bit) shows the music selected, plays the first 5 seconds then starts over again-
   No sound. This happens only on the external DAC player, not on the computer speakers.   
  when I open MC I get an error message "This dtabase will be opened in read only mode. Any changes will be lost when the program exits"

my last 3 posts have been ignored.
Can I get some help here?

Not sure about the DAC problem, but the the message really isn't an error message. It just means that there is another PC running JR using the same library. This prevents 2 people from making simultaneous  changes to a library.

There is no other PC running MC.  Two other oddities:
when I minimize MC the problem seems to happen more frequently
MC is the default player for DVD movies - is it possible that the movies create a problem?

What settings do I need to make some other program (like Windows media player) the default for movies?

I think it's a software issue because rebooting the computer usually resolves the problem, at least temporarily
