Has Evaluation Copy Limited Functionality?
« on: September 05, 2013, 03:20:12 am »

Hi, I've recently installed MC and initially set up audio & added my old iTunes music library. I've had issues in obtaining artwork (still not resolved) but I now notice most of the options in the menus are greyed out and unselectable, e.g. Options in the Tools menu, download artwork (only available option is to "Get artist images from Last.fm, whatever that is) & lots of other stuff.

Is this because it's only an evaluation copy or is there some other reason please?

The trial version is fully functional as far as I'm aware.

I know that some options are greyed out when you are connected to another server. Otherwise, I don't know  ?

Thanks for your help Mr Mouse, but I've not done anything, save download the remote iPad App., to change things.

So, now I can't edit anything. Why?

What are you doing with a remote ipad app? I don't think I understand this.

If you're talking about JRemote, this app is basically a remote control for the server, or a client to stream media to. It is not meant to edit your library.

Yes, the JRiver remote. And I wasn't using that to try & edit with.

Thanks.

Here you go -

In this case, Options and Import are greyed out, but it's the same with most meus - items greyed out whereas before I could select them.

When you click on View, is there a tick next to 'Party Mode'?

If yes, click on it to get out of party mode and restore full functionality.

Exactly. You have party mode enabled. Disable it and you should be good to go.
