Meridian explorer DAC

I am using a Meridian explorer DAC and would like to know if there are any tips on using this DAC with MC18. Do I use ASIO.WASAPI,DIRECT or something else.Also do I configure sounds in Windows 8 as Meridian
suggests or not.
