Illegal Operation - Automated WMA Recording
« on: March 15, 2002, 01:59:35 am »

When using the scheduler to record audio from the net the media jukebox recorder performs an illegal opperation and gives the following error messages:

Cannont Create plugin 'Windows Media'

Cannot Create Encoder Control

This does not seem to happen when recording manually.

Actually this is happening with all the installed encoders.  But like I said before ... only happens with automated recording and not manual recording.

Could it be something else, like available disk space?  Because there is a conversion to wav first, it can take a lot of space.  Try converting one file or two.

Yes it might be something else ... but its not disk space.  When I posted my last reply it was happening with any format and now it only seems again to be doing this with wma.

I still cant figure this one out.  Very puzzling ... only happens when encoding at the end of a scheluled recording and not with manual recording.  Also very frustrating ... this is the reason why purchased this product.  Am I the ONLY one this has happened to?  Does ANYONE have more insight?  Please help me!

It's the weekend!  Maybe Monday someone else at JRiver will have an idea.

I missed the fact that you were using Media Scheduler.  Check all the settings there for clues.

Yes ... recording via media scheduler.  I have checked all the settings.  I have tried many different combinations including keeping temp files, not recording and encoding simultaniously, etc..
