I guess this is not possible. Just need to live with duplicates while playing.

JRiver is probably just looking at its own one library. If it imported both albums into the library they will both show. Look at the file path of the tracks and see if they do reside in different places.

You can delete the ones you do not want in the library by right clicking them and selecting delete (just delete from library option).

You can also set up views by location if you want both items in your library, but just see certain ones in a view.

There are a lot of possibilities to solve your problem.

What is it that ya really want to achive??

I'm just trying to have MC see only one of my library's . I bought a album from HDtracks ang imported into iTunes. When I try to play the album on MC it play the track from iTunes the the duplicate from HDtracks. I'm trying to prevent this. Is their a easier option then deleting each song?

Yes. Once from iTunes and one from HDtracks.

You can customize the view you are using to not show files from a certain location. I am assuming the albums are in different directories on your hard drive.

Which view are you using to play your files from?

In your view click the down arrow next to the view name.
Then select Customize View

Click on Set rules for file display

In the rules section you the drop downs to select Filename (Path) - Is not
Then type the path to the directories that the Itunes files are. You can add as many rules as you want.

This is just one way of doing it.

You could set up a new view and only show files from your Itunes directory and then tag all those files with a custom field (you could create a field called Itunes) and put Yes in that field for your Itunes files, and then use rules to not show files that are yes in your field.

You could possibly clear your library and only import the directories you really want in the libray too. But keeping all your files in the library is a better option I think.

There are many ways to accomplish what you want..

thanks very much. I wish there was a easier method of doing this. For example on Logitech Media Server I can can just "x" which files you want imported/displayed.

Well when MC is run for the first time, it goes out and looks for media files automatically after a 45 second countdown (seen in the lower left hand portion of the screen). You can stop this process before it starts and the selectively add what folders you want imported. You can also add folders to watch for auto import to automatically update the library if it sees a new file in that directory.

I guess when it first ran it went out and found all your media.

You could clear your library and just import the folders you want.
