MC for Mac vs MC for PC installed on a Mac using Parallels?
« on: September 06, 2013, 02:31:42 pm »

Hi
I Recently migrated to OSX and my 2 pcs with MC donated to new users [students].

I am presently using MC for Mac but miss the features and stability of the PC version.
questions
1/ any downside to running MC for PC on my Mac? [Parallels]
2/ Is there any special for Mac version owners who also wish to run the Windows version?
thanks

Just one thought - I do have Parallels on one of my Macs, but if I wanted to run the Windows version of MC on my Mac I would use Boot Camp, allowing me to boot natively into Windows.

The Boot Camp partition can co-exist with a Mac OS instance. Only difference is that unlike Parallels you cannot run both Operating systems at the same time.

Several of us used it all the time, mostly for audio, some for images and video.  It works well.  The faster your Mac, the better the overall experience.

Thanks all.
I suppose another alternative is to run it on a Windows machine and control it from my Mac? Do I have to buy a separate Win licence to do this?

You need a separate license for each platform it runs on (Mac, Win).

If you want MC19, you'll have to wait for MC19 on the Mac to connect via Library Server.
