What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do? I am ripping CDs using EAC to my hard drive but the MC identifies them as UNKNOWN artist and UNKNOWN title even though I rip them into a folders that contain the artist name and subfolders with the title of the CD. I later go into MC and change the name and title. Is there an easier way to do this? so MC automatically picks up the Artist name and CD title? Thanx!

It seems like your rips don't have the correct metadata filled out.
You can use Tools > Library Tools > Fill Properties From Filename… to fill out the artist and album information from the folder structure.

Have you tried ripping in Media Center rather than EAC?

Thanks! I just tried the ripping tool in MC, really nice takes a lot of the work out of the process filling in the track info, adding pics etc. Forget the EAC  ;D

Problem! I ripped some CDs on my work computer using MC and want to add them to my library on my laptop that also has MC. I try importing and the MC on my laptop doesn't recognize the ripped CDs??? I am trying to setup my work computer as the storage place that connects to my laptop through the network that is connected to my stereo.

Did you rip CDs to WAV files?

Did you import those files into the laptop?

The last time I checked, EAC didn't write tags in WAV files.

JRiver can write tags in WAV files but you need to turn on a few options.

http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/WAV_%26_AIFF_Tagging

If you don't turn on those options, JRiver uses the tag values to create folder and file names and adds the tag information to its library database but it doesn't write tags in the files.  When you import the files into MC on the laptop, it doesn't see the contents of the MC library on the other computer.

If you are ripping CDs to WAV files based on audiophile chatter, you should learn a bit more about how ripping  and tagging work before following such advice.

Thanks! Looks like my problem was in my network/homegroup configuration. John
