I don't seem to be having any problems with version 8.

Is there a problem somewhere?

Well, I still get really, really bad poping and skipping when playing a factory CD in digital mode. No problem with analog mode. But, there was no problem with digital mode in v7.2, and there's no problem in digital mode with that MM jukebox. Other than that, it's 11:00 PM and all's really quite well. But, I did run out of Newcastle again (how does that happen?) and I've resorted to Bass. And no one seems to carry that Scottish oatmeal stout any more. And I'm vexed trying to figure out what an "arab strap" is.

Hiya

You may be interested to know that I took a container full (about 25 tons) of Newcastle Brown to the docks last week for shipment to Rihad. Seemed a bit of a shame really.....

the cost of shipping must be outrageous

explains why it's so expensive here in the states

so you're having no problems with v8 whatsoever? Good to hear.

I don't use it in 'expert' mode and I must say it seems pretty good now. I think there's a coupla things I'd change but they have to consider the package across all customer's requirements so I would'nt worry. The one that really bugs me though is the white background - it really gets to me after a while.

re your pops and scratches - it's not an MJ problem, it's a lack of beer problem. Get some more heavy stuff and you won't hear them anymore

I live in a cultural desert: No scottish oatmeal stout anymore. No porter. No dopple bock. The future seems dreary. May resort to my wife's wine. No I won't. The background's white? I thought that I was staring in to the light at the end of the tunnel . . .

I think you're ready for bed. Which is exactly where I'm just going. Dream of coloured backgrounds, or maybe some wallpaper or something - anything but a plain white background !!

Goodnight - Jim

midnight and all's well . . .

Reading Utne Reader to stay awake

took 20 2nd graders to La Brea Tar Pits (Los Angeles, CA, USA) today, then napped earlier. Can't sleep. Thinking about the amazingly wonderful, yet extinct ice age mammals.

Anyone read the Alt-rock mag called "The Big Take-over"?

as kingsparta would say (but more poeticly, no doubt) bla, bla, bla

Hello MHorton,

MJ seems to be a late night addiction for many.  I'm a new user and live in LA (Silverlake).  But now it's about time for me to wrap it up (car pool duty in the AM).  I'm looking for local MJ partners in crime so if you'd like to connect, give me a shout at mediabl@pacbell.net.

Later,

Bob L.

nice to meet you Bob L. We're getting away with more chit-chat than normal because the chief moderator is boating in the Netherlands. Nice to run across someone from "my neck o' the woods." Best to join in these threads, I'm afraid. Thanks for the reminder, I really should check my email . . .
