MJ Crash when ports are probed for security leaks
« on: March 12, 2002, 04:25:46 pm »

When performing standard port scans MJ80224 crashes even if the HTTP plug-in is not installed.  Ideas ....

Also I posted a question about selecting the IP address for listening in addition to the port when starting the server.  Can you give me any help on this?

Thanx

Hi JThomas,

I replied before as well.

I don't know if the crash was an exploitable security hole - it wasn't a buffer overrun. Anyway, it is fixed in the latest beta.

Binding to a listening address should be done soon as well, perhaps in the latest beta.
