Can anyone play TAK file properly
« on: September 27, 2013, 12:28:52 pm »

Currently I am using winamp plug in which is found in

http://thbeck.de/Tak/Tak.html

After I install the plugin and throw the in_tak.dll file into the Plugin folder. There is a TAK option in "File type" page. But there are different problem when I use different kind of playback method.

1."Automatic" or "JRiver audio engine (using input plug-in)"
For some TAK file, JRiver crash imediately. For some other TAK file, JRiver could play but it still crash when I turned to another track.

2.JRiver audio engine (using DirectShow filters)
The time bar would goes without crash but no sound came out.

Is my setting incorrect or there are some other problem?

JRiver will play TAK files.

Once you import them just change their Media Type tag from Data to Audio and the File Type tag to something like TTA. You can see in Tools > Options > File Types all the file types that JRiver supports for audio. Since TAK isn't listed, you can just use anyone that you won't be using and put the extension into the File Type tag. JRiver use LAV Filters and will automatically play the files.

Matt Ashland, the CTO for JRiver, is the developer of Monkey's Audio. You might consider using APE files.
