Finding Gizmo Skips?
« on: January 31, 2014, 08:52:35 am »

I'd like to find the songs I've skipped while listening through Gizmo, to do some tagging. However, I'm not having much luck.

  • I created a smartlist sorted by the Last Skipped field, but Gizmo skips aren't listed.
  • Gizmo playlists don't appear in Recent Playing Now's.

Is there another way to find Gizmo skips?

I don't think the MCWS protocol (which Gizmo/WebGizmo use) supports sending back track playback information.

Gizmo updates my #Plays and Last Played fields. But not Last Skipped.

# Plays and Last Played can be updated because the client asks for playback and then MC updates these stats.

But then MC is out of the picture once the file is streamed, so it doesn't know that you/the client have skipped anything.  The client would have to send back a request to MC via MCWS to update Last Skipped.

Got it.

I see that JRiver is recording plays for my skips. That will work for my purposes.

Thanks again, MrC
