Bob,
Something for me to try Monday. BTW, I was unable to enter album or artist folders intomy mediacenter. Hope the problem is solved with the newest version. All of us JRiver Media Center Linux users really appreciate the effort put in by all y'all in getting us a version for Linux.
Will get back to you Monday with the results!!
Thanks again,

Entering tags is pretty much impossible. The cursor and entered characters disappear . The suggestion box appears in random places.
Moving and resizing the main window is better but still pretty clunky.

I've been testing this for the last couple days, and I've noticed some issues while running Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit. I'm guessing you guys already know about these issues, but I'll still list them anyways for archive purposes...

- There's no running indicator icon added to the Unity dash in Ubuntu nor does Media Center appear in the ALT+Tab task switcher. If you minimize the player's window, you end up having to end the task and reopen the program to get it back as you can't bring it back up.
- There's no launcher added to the Unity dash after installing (they're added to the main menu though).
- The volume slider doesn't work - always shows as low volume even though the volume isn't actually low.
- Special (unicode) characters don't show up correctly.
- The far left top of the player window when maximized is pretty glitchy.
- Can't access the purchase or license links (I assume this is intentional until the player is more stable).
- You can't change the fonts in settings (clicking the button doesn't do anything).
- The Browse button when trying to add a folder via media import doesn't do anything. You can workaround this by manually typing in the path yourself.
- Clicking Device settings (ALSA) under Audio when a file is playing causes the dialog to whiteout and the player to crash.
- When in settings, clicking on a section causes the window to move downwards a few pixels.
- There's a gap on the bottom of menus.
- Trying to add a last.fm account doesn't launch a web browser to authenticate Media Center.

Honestly the number one most annoying and most important issue to me right now is the first issue, as I can live with/workaround the rest.
