I have set my TV recording to 2min before and 2min after the EPG times for an episode so I don't miss the beginning or an end if it starts early or late.
It would be lovely to have a trim function to discard the beginning of the episode so that when I watch something repeatedly (read: kids programmes) it starts right at the beginning of the episode rather than the beginning of the recording. The automatic bookmarks are ok, but if I press 'stop' a couple of times they get discarded. An undeletable bookmark would also be OK, but a trim function better.
I'm not so bothered about trimming the end.
